Our school will close next Wednesday week, March 7th. Some of the patrons have talked to the principal of the school, expressing a desire to continue it by subscription. An interesting entertainment is anticipated at the close of school, consisting of vocal and instrumental music, recitations, declamations, orations, dialogues, etc.
Mr. John Huffstedler, brother to Sam, has recently purchased the Deaver's place.
Mr. Sam Elliott, who bought Mr. Sheridan's place, has lately traded it to Mr. F. C. Fortner.
Mr. Nelson of Comanche Peak, has bought Chap Crites' place.
Messrs. Frank and Will Brazell, Hudy Tidwell and Frank Tatum left Colony for the coast country a few weeks ago and have decided to remain.
