Hood County Genealogical Society

Order:Judge Davis Files

Please be informed that these are unedited files. Judge Davis wrote his notations on any paper that happened to be at hand - the back of unused ballots and various legal forms; index cards and several sizes of notebook and notepad paper. He used different pencils, several types and color of ink pens in recording his data. His penmanship was "not good" and the wear and tear of time has added to the difficulty of reading his notes.

The records do contain substantial beneficial genealogical information on Hood County families and the effort required in reading his handwriting is usually worthwhile - if Judge Davis happened to record data about a family that is of interest to you.
