Lena Ratliff taught school for more than fourty years in Hood County. She died at 97 in March 1999. We would like to honor her with notes from her students that recall some incident in their lives that relates to Lena's class room or extracurricular activities.

Lena Ratliff

Retired teacher

Lena Ratliff of Granbury, died Wednesday, March 24 at Granbury Care Center. She was 97.

Mrs. Ratliff was born March 26, 1901 inm Hood County and married Giles J. Ratliff in Granbury. She was a lifelong resident and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a Shanley House Band member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Giles Ratliff and one son, Jack Ratliff.

Survivors include two sons, Robert W. Ratliff and Joe Owens Ratliff, both of Granbury; four daughters, Geraldine Massey of Kennedale, Corrine Finley of Granbury, Laura Willis of Godley and Betty Collins of Cleburne; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Services were Friday, March 26, 1999 at Martin's Chapel in Granbury with Rev. John Robbins and Dr. Eugene Robertson officiating. Interment was in Nubbin Ridge Cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home directed.
