This is the obituary of Samual Knight i found in the Hood Co. newspaper dated 1925:

DEATH OF A SPLENDID CITIZEN After years of suffering from Bright's Disease, Mr. Samuel L. died at his home near Granbury at 11:55 last Monday morning, March 30th, and was buried at the cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. M.M. Robinett conducting the funeral services.

Deceased was 73 years of age and 15 days , and had been a resident of Hood county for 51 years. He was born in Jackson, Tenn, where he grew to manhood. He ws the father of nine children, seven of whom were present when he died. He also had 15 grand children and one great-grandchild. His two brothers, William and John Knight, also his sister, Mrs. Ella Click, (should be Klink) all from Kaufman County, had been notified of his approaching death and were present at the time.

Hood county had no better citizen than Sam Knight. The soul of Honor and always dependable, liberal minded and sympathetic with the troubles of others, he had not only the confidence, but the respect of all with whom he came in contact. In his prime he was a most useful citizen, continuing so until failing health interfered with his plairs of life.
