William Harvey Millwee
First Attorney in Hood County
By: Diana Rawlins WILLIAM HARVEY MILLWEE, first attorney in Hood County, was m. to Martha Clack, da. of Philip Dedman Clack and Mary Henderson Clack. William was b. 15 Nov. 1817, Pendleton Co., SC.
He was admited to the bar in Sommerville, Ala in 1840 had grey eyes, dark hair was 5 feet 5 inches tall with a dark complexion. He married 22 Aug. 1849, Clarksville, Red River Co., Tx. and d. 24 Sept. 1876 at Thorp Springs both bodies were later placed in the old Grandbury Cemetery where they are now. Martha Clack Millwee was in Marlow, Oklahoma when she died 1 May 1922 and her body was sent back to Granbury.
The Millwee's were friends of Addison and Randolph Clark.

Millwee, b. 6 Nov. 1853 was a carpenter in Marlow, Ok.;
Tarold (Tal) Millwee, b. Aug. 1859 m.
Iola Smith, he was a druggist in McAlister, Ok.;
Effie May Millwee b. 12 Dc. 1867 m. John
Robert Boyd on 19 Oct. 1887, she d. 27 June 1898, br. Granbury;
Edward Millwee, b. 12 Aug.
1857, d. 1 April 1920 was a preacher there in Granbury and is buried next to his parents.
All the
children were born at Paris in Lamar County, Texas.
