OBITUARY

LIPAN -- Bobbie Howard, 71, owner of the Lipan Telephone Co., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, in Weatherford.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Lipan. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan.

Memorials: Church Building Fund, in care of First National Bank, Box 158, Lipan, Texas 76462.

Mrs. Howard was born July 6, 1930, in Lipan. She married Herman Howard on Jan. 26, 1957, in Lipan. A lifelong resident of Lipan, Mrs. Howard and her husband owned the Lipan Telephone Co. and the Lipan Water Co. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was active in many community events and the Chieftan Club. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; sister, Eilleen Wilson; and brothers, Robert Lee Haralson and William "Buster" Haralson.

Survivors: Daughter, Rhonda Millington and husband, Don, of Lipan; son, John Howard and wife, Beth, of Lipan; grandchildren, Mark and Jennifer Millington, Brandon, Lacie and Herman Weldon Howard, all of Lipan; sister, Mary Nadine Compton of Waco; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Carroll Haralson of Lipan, W.N. "Boots" and Pat Haralson of Fort Worth and Maurine Haralson of Fort Worth; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
